COVID-19 Update

We find ourselves in such uncertain times where the current pandemic is having a significant impact on our work and how we operate. Air Skate is currently closed and we are constantly evaluating the situation as it develops to ensure Air Skate meets its objectives and remains viable for the future. Our main objective is to find the best and safest way to re-open Air Skate post lockdown in a way that is both feasible, safe and in line with government guidelines. As you will be aware, forming a part of the centre structure at Thornton and with new covid-secure guidelines in place, the team has had to maximise the space at the centre.

For our centres,  to meet all the guidance and industry standards, including the restrictions related to social distancing, use of toilets, changing areas, air flow and sanitisation procedures, the centre has had to make some changes to the design and layout, in addition to reducing maximum numbers for each area of the operation.

There are currently no plans for Air Skate to close permanently and we do not have a reopening date as yet. Air Skate will form part of a phased opening process and review to ensure it remains financially viable and safe for our users in line with current restrictions surrounding these type of activities. We understand how important this is to the youth of our community and therefore will be kept under constant review.

Our objective as a YMCA and charity is to work with our partners to continue to be focused on providing health for all the communities we serve and that includes Air Skate.

We would like to thank all of our customers for their continued patience and support
